Why We Go on Mission

Hello!

This month and this week have been full of serving, learning, and growing in my house. I want to talk about why we go on mission, and how we can go on mission daily.

I'm not talking about mission trips to foreign countries. I'm talking about our DAILY mission. As human beings we have a desire to be wanted, or needed. Even when we can't seem to have a desire to get up and help ourselves or each other, we still want to have purpose in our lives.

Those of you who know me, know I love Jesus. I'm not just talking to those who love Jesus today. I'm talking to everyone reading this post, because we can all have different beliefs and still have great conversation. You all have a purpose in this little thing we call Life. What does "living on a mission" mean to everyone? The definition of a mission is simply a strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling. We all feel that urge to do something more with our day, our week, and our life.

So, the question is why? Why do we go on mission daily? BECAUSE it can change the way you see PEOPLE. It can change the way you see YOURSELF, and the purpose you have for this life.

A daily mission can be something as simple as being kind to one another. It seems like we all live in this fast paced mindset that we have to just get to the next thing in the day and we forget to seize the moment to be kind. This looks like holding the door for someone, being patient at a red light, handing that person who happens to be homeless your spare change in your car or a meal, being patient in line at the bank, having a conversation with someone instead of being on your phone, buying the person behind you a meal in the drive through, saying thank you, saying good bye before you hang up, asking someone how their day is going and actually caring, and so much more. We are all capable of doing these things. I think we get so wrapped up in our own personal progress that we forget that everyone that is around us is another human being who is weighed down with their own set of struggles and reality. We have a lot less mental illness, struggle, violence, sickness, etc. if we just take a moment to appreciate that the person who just sat by you in the waiting room has a story too and maybe they just need someone to hear it or to offer them a kind gesture to believe in humanity one more time. Be on a mission to build a better world around you.

I would love to hear how you all go on your mission this week in the Comments below. Thanks for reading!

With Love,
Angela Cross
